The Institute for Geoinformatics (ifgi), University of Münster, Germany, is one of the world-wide leading institutions in GI Science research (http://ifgi.uni-muenster.de). ifgi provides a one-semester scholarship (March 1 – July 31, 2013) to a Colombian fifth-year Bachelor student (or student in a postgraduate program) in the field of Geoinformatics or similar. The grant-holder will be invited to choose a 30 ECTS credit point study program from the ifgi courses in the Masters programs in Geoinformatics and Geospatial Technologies (taught in English), see http://www.master-geoinformatics.info, http://geotech.uni-muenster.de. Regular courses will start in April, 2013 – before, we invite the grant-holder to attend an intensive German language course, if applicable.
This scholarship is explicitly for one semester only. There are no funding opportunities for further semesters in the Masters program provided by ifgi or, more general, by German funding organizations.
The ifgi scholarship includes- Monthly scholarship lump sum of 800 € per month (March 1 – July 31, 2013)
- Tuition waiver for the summer semester 2013
- Travel costs, up to 1.200 € according to real and documented costs
- Pre-arrival and after-arrival support by ifgi
- Free intensive German language course for beginners.
Selection will base on the following criteria: fulfillment of formal requirements (see below), appropriateness of the ongoing study program, grades in the ongoing study program, other academic or professional achievements, and motivation.

- Suggested study program (applicants are requested to suggest a study program of 30 ECTS credit points, selected from the ifgi course program (to be published beginning/mid of December 2012 at http://ifgi.uni-muenster.de/csa - before, you might get an impression of the course program looking at the course program of summer semester 2012)
- CV with documentation of achievements (e.g., diplomas, certificates, tran-script of records)
- Two recommendation letters
- English language proof (TOEFL 500 paper-based or equivalent).
